Thank you!

First of all, thank you to those who offered advice for my fussy little girl! I think my concern is that it's something I'm eating and she's in tremendous pain and I'm unable to do anything for her! However, I think I've concluded it's just fussiness. She did it again tonight when we were at a Small Group dinner (that made it enjoyable!) and we got home, wrapped her up, and put her to bed! Maybe by the end of the day she's just been over-stimulized and is tired and just wants to be left alone! It was so weird tonight...I was trying to get her to calm down, she had a little gas, and we were just about to leave. I wanted to change her diaper so I could just put her to bed when we got home as cars are the magic sleep machines! So, I set her on her mat and SILENCE! She just layed there like she was tired of being held! SO WEIRD!!! Anyway...I try to remind myself I'm not going to understand her and I can just love her and hold her...if she wants that...and do my best!

On another note...I CANNOT believe how many people are getting Glamour! That's SO strange! Maybe it is related to e.l.f and their $1 makeup! Really strange! I was laughing so hard when I saw how many people commented on that and were getting it! They better not start charging us!

Cranky

I'm so confused by our child! I know that I'm not supposed to understand her but still...let me tell you about tonight. First off...we had a great day. Ella and I went to a friend's uncle's beach house and hung out there for the day. She was great...really mellow and just a wonderful girl. We got home, she ate...a good feeding! Then Eric and I went to Costco with her and and got home just in time for her to eat again...she was crying when we got home (obviously hungry I assumed!) She ate 10 minutes on one side and then screamed bloody murder when I tried to get her to go on the other side. Thinking she maybe needed to burp or get rid of gas, I tried to calm her down on my shoulder...didn't work. Eric tried to calm her down...didn't work. I tried to feed her again...more screaming!!! Finally, we calmed her down, gave her a bath which she likes, and I didn't dare try to give her more food. Now she's sleeping and I have to wake her in an hour for her final feeding before bed and I'm petrified she's going to scream again! Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to go longer between feedings? Does this sound like a gas issue? Why would she scream if she was just full? Can't she just say "No thanks, mom...that's enough!" It's just really bad and this isn't the first time this has happened! We've tried gripe water and gas drops which do help for a while but I just don't understand! I'd love some advice from other moms...it kinda freaks me out when she's like this! It's like she goes from zero to 60 in 2 seconds and it's just weird!

OK...enough about the cranky-ness! Here are a couple cute pictures from the last couple days! She's fitting into all her 0-3 month clothes now and it's so fun to dress her every day! People have been so generous with gifts and I feel like she has the best wardrobe in town! The generosity of people constantly amazes me. We got meals for 2 weeks after Ella was born and we still have friends and people from church call to bring something over! We just got a lasagna last week! SO KIND! AND how can I almost forget...Ella blessed us with her first smile on Sunday morning! We both got to see it and it was SOOOOO cute! She's given us many more but I never seem to have the camera handy! I'll try to get one soon! Anyway...here are some pictures!

Friends at the beach today...the other baby is Ella's friend Lucas

When we got home from Costco, our friends and neighbors were just coming back from a walk and their little girl, Emily, was in the same outfit as Ella!!! We couldn't resist a quick photo shoot!

This one cracks me up...Ella is hungry and crying as mom is trying to take a couple more pictures and Emily is looking at her like "Why are you crying...it's not so bad!"

Glamour

I suddenly started to get Glamour in the mail. I didn't subscribe to it...it just started coming. Are they trying to hint that I'm not glamorous with my six-week postpartum belly and I need to start becoming more glamorous??? Also, when you're pregnant and right after having your baby, you get all sorts of coupons and magazines about parenting or for formula and diapers. How do they know I'm pregnant? How do they know I just had a baby? Who's spying on me? It's a little erie if you ask me!

Firsts

Our little girl has been changning a lot and has had lots of firsts over the past couple weeks! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted...it seems like I rarely have gotten a free moment the past few days...we've had a slightly cranky little girl! I think she's been having some gas issues which has made our gas drops one of my favorite things! It's so hard when they're crying and you don't know what to do. I think I have it in my head that because I'm her mommy, I should always know what to do to make her feel better and that is NOT the case! Anyway...here are a few pictures of our growing girl who turned ONE month yesterday! I can't believe that first month is over...time really does fly! Oh...and Eric is officially off on summer break! YIPEEE!!!! His classroom is cleaned out and he's checked out until August! I LOVE being married to a teacher! I am so thankful I get him around with me during the next couple months!

First bath

First time on her gymini...we tried for some tummy time after this picture and she put her head down and fell asleep...so sweet!

First time at church on June 8...she was so broken out that week. I think baby acne is the meanest thing! Those 2 words shouldn't go together. It has cleared up quickly thanks to a special "cream" my sister told me about! Thanks Jani!

This just in...

My friend, Alli, is a broadway star! She really is! The show she is currently is Cry Baby and it's up for a Tony award. Because of this, the show is getting lots of publicity and Alli is going to perform (by HERSELF!!!!!) tomorrow on Regis and Kelly! So, set your TiVo and tune in! I'm so excited for her. I would like to add that she and Eric were in a band together once (Eric played the guitar and Alli sang) and they even had a gig all the way up in Seattle! OK...so it was a one time thing and it was for Kristen's wedding but still...pretty awesome! Here's a picture of Alli and I from Kristen's wedding!

Growing

Our little Ella is 18 days old today and she is growing and changing! It's so weird how fast it really does happen. She had her first Dr's appt. today and she weighed in at a solid 9 lbs 1 oz! That's such a good feeling as a mom to know she's getting enough to eat! Anyway, I thought I'd post a few pictures to keep you updated!
